December 2015 Camming / Adult Marketplace Site Traffic Benchmark Report

Started benchmarking the traffic for all the sites last month and planning on doing this on a monthly basis. Now that I've got the data from last month, I can start analysing the changes in traffic as well. So, here's the camming site / adult marketplace site December 2015 traffic report.

Key Notes: BongaCams has broken into the top 100 sites globally and continues to gain popularity in Russia, Europe and Asia while losing ground in the United States. Clips4Sale continues to be the most popular adult marketplace site, but ManyVids is closing in on the English speaking countries, though still far from passing them globaly.

All data provided by Alexa. It's not 100% accurate, but the best in the industry. Alexa ranks the websites in order from 1st to last, so the lower the Alexa score, the better the traffic. I've color coated everything green and red. Red indicates a drop in position while green is a raise in position.

If there's any other sites that anyone would like to see benchmarked on future months, let me know and I'll add it next time. If there's any other metrics that are easily benchmarked that you'd like to see added, let me know and if it's not time consuming (just what you see there is almost an all-day project) I'll see what I can do.

  • Thanks! That's incredibly useful for those of us who have lots of content, and sell it on other sites. Let's me know which ones to focus on since it takes so long to individually upload everything. I've wasted hours in the past uploading to sites that don't get any traffic and never saw a single penny from them.

  • Out of curiousity, you remember any of those wasted sites? What sites are you currently on?

  • From the models I have dealt with and what I can see from referral stats, ManyVids and Clips4Sale seem to be the top earners as far as single content sales go.

If you try out AmateurCommunity, I'd be interested to know what you think of it. Haven't interacted personally with any models using it and just started promoting them, but I've got two models who are earning ballpark $1,500ish per month. I've only been promoting it for two months, so none of the referrals could be more than 2 months old.

AC doesn't give a referral list with model names, so I can't figure out what Geographics, what services they're selling on the platform or anything else helpful, but the fact that some of my referrals are making that much after such a short time from registering is of interest to me. Assuming they had content on another site prior to joining.

I hear mixed reviews about ExtraLunchMoney, but most are positive. My referral stats say otherwise. For how many damn referrals I get for that site, the conversion rates are crap. Maybe my traffic doesn't agree with the site, but it's suspiciously low compared to the other conversion rates on any other related site. Still, I hear a lot of good things.

  • I also believe that AC is based on the Euro, meaning that once the Greece finally leaves the Euro Zone and they can get back to business as usual, USD earnings will increase due to the exchange rate.

How many sides have paid for the statistics? I think the statistic is a lie.

I had quite a time at Bonga Cams. This is the right portal for Freeloader.

Who all comes down to the portal from Germany, is great. In Bonga Cams not verify the origin takes place. I can log on each country, which I just like it and I think in this country keep the cash. When land no verification takes place, but once the passport has expired you get from Bonga Cams an email. Your account is locked, please upload a new identity card. Since Banga Cams is the fastest portal. But everyone can pick a country. loooool

Most of all I had to laugh at the statistics about AC. I am for years at AC.

Many years ago there was a lot of running, but today barely. The cams no longer run. Since no more years. Ever since the very many members noticed that there are other sites out there like CB or Cam4. Where you can first chat and can fill a Goal for little money.

Frankly, from the perspective of a member. Which member today Experienced only biopics and then booked a Camgirl. Without knowing the biopics are reals and new, as is the quality of the Cam (without previewing the Cam). Most German Cam pages work like that. For this reason, more and more members migrate from these sites, and I meet a lot again at CB or Cam4. Even with SM I met again recently one of my fan was at Livestrip years ago.

Years ago, when I logged in AV, the Lieste the visitors of my profile was full. Now, when I go rummage times with AV and I am half an hour on, I get to 3 visitors. loool

Most German portals work with reversals, such as AC, Visit X and MDH. In the last days of my work at AC, MDH, and X Visit I had 1/3 Cancellations (3 years ago). 25 - 30% and cancellations No thanks. At Visit X my account is even 25 € in the red. lool

It is true, German are good cam visitors. Unfortunately, 80% of quickies (max 5min).

dirtylittleholly  I agree with you. Here would be an exchange of advantage. You invest a lot of time for nothing, with the upload. Even with very fast Internet, this is not done in minutes. The same goes for the opening of a profile for Cam.

WebcamStartup this our mom Merkel will take care. Greece remains in the EU.

    *sorry for my bad english

  • @spaingirl Which statistics are you speaking of on the first line? The Alexa rankings or stats referenced in the last post I made?

Alexa is not 100% accurate. No data agregator is. The only way to get 100% accuracy with the data is if each site granted me access to whatever analytical suite they're running. That would be a dream come true, but also something that's never going to happen.

Greece might have been bailed out again, but you think the country can really become solvant? Greece is going to haunt the Euro Zone until everyone finally comes to terms with the fact that the bailouts are just digging them a deeper hole.

While we're on the topic of EU politics, what's up with Catalonia? I know they had their referendem vote on independence, but it doesn't seem like something that Madrid or the EU is going to let that happen. Catalonia's situation might set presidence for Greeks situation next time they default on their bigger debt.

Thanks for your feedback on all those sites. I get tons of European traffic; both Western and Eastern, but haven't collaborated or interacted with with many of them. I haven't got much feedback on any of those sites, as they're primarily European and leaning towards the non-English European.

Haven't heard of VISIT-X yet, checking them out right now. At first when you were refering to them, I thought you were refering to XCams.

With BongaCams, seems like all my traffic that converts and remains with them is either Asian or Russian. Primarily Asian. I do get American / English conversions, but the retention with that traffic sucks.

CB is definetely the most popular camming site I'm promoting. It's also the one I always directly vouch for (except for their support which sucks at life!). I love the apps you can add to the Chatroom, great traffic, decent model payouts.

  • Also, with Greece seeming like it's finally reaching a deal, you think the EURO/USD exchange rate is going to bounce back up to the neighborhood of 1.5 on the USD?

I've got Euro income, which was way more awesome last year. Would love to see the exchange rate go back to what it was prior to the bailout / Grexit talks.

  • @spaingirl You got any experience with XLoveCam by chance? I'd be curious to know your opinion on them. They just recently reached out to me about promotion and I added them to my list of sites. Prior to them reaching out to me, I haven't heard of them.

  • thanks for the stats @WebcamStartup, certainly very useful as a general scope, although I agree with @spaingirl on the fact that the quality/origin of traffic matters much more than its amounts. You can send tons and tons of traffic at a website, but none of the people that would get there even own a credit card. And you're screwed :)

  • Nothing on FreeWebCams?

  • WebcamStartup  thank you for that , I have been debating doing live cam again and that helps a lot.

I am on ExtraLunchMoney ,  some months I will make nothing, then the next have crazy sales and it goes back and forth like that.

I worked on AmateurCommunity for over and year and was on of the top  3 earners. I was making between 300 to 400 month. (not a lot in my eyes but I have no idea what other models made) Once they added where models can IM up to 40 people at a time and removed free coins the site got really slow.  I affaite with them now too and have yet to get one sign up.

Natalie you are so right, I know on the sites I run maybe 5 percent of hits sign up. I am really interest in any info on FreeWebCams I see lots of models post about it but have not seen much on sales ec.

  • @Natalie just checked them out. At first I thought they were going to be a whitelabel. That font and logo looks so familiar, maybe it's just cause I checked them out in the past. Nameservers don't seem to match any existing cam networks, so I guess they're not a whitelabel.

  • @Stormy I registered with their affiliate program, so I'll be able to benchmark is against the other programs I'm promoting and have some idea on how well it converts models opposed to other sites. Depending on what their analytics look like, might be able to get some idea of what kind of models convert and earn.

Haven't talked to any models using the site. That logo and font looks so familiar though, it's actually bugging me. Maybe I tried registering for their affiliate program back in the day and they never responded to that email you have to send them answering a few questions....

Doing some Googling on them, including old nameserver listings, ect. It appears they were a Streamate whitelabel at some point.

  • WebcamStartup  I have now tried in the 12 years a large number of pages by. I ended 2 years ago at SM. But everyone has to find out for themselves what is the right side. What I think it comes down to quality. SM and LiveJasmin have high yardsticks contrary to Cam4, a simple lighting and only one from Cam Notbook.

Xlove Cams I do not know unfortunately. I hear for the first time. All other German (European) so how Livestrip, AC, MDH, cams99, Visit-x ..........

Look at the major studios. 5-8 years ago, they set video material at AC, MDH in large quantities. Today virtually nothing more. The reason is that revenues have fallen dramatically, so that it gives you no sense of material upload. The time I see only material of couples that their sex life films.

I think the big problem is also in German Cams, if I want to work on AV, must camgirl speak flawless German. The portal is now time from 95% German Members and the German prefers to his compatriots. German is now no world language such as English. Today everyone learns English at school, but German?

I see it every day at SM. I am German, but because I live in Spain, my country at SM Spain. Many members speak the first sentence in English. Until they realize, oh you're deutsch.Ich have nowhere near the German Trafic, as my fellow managed under DE. On the main page is "German Girl in Spain". But I think 30% of the Members are reading this sentence.

Clear CB is the most popular site, but you need a very long lead time. Very many fans to be money. What I find very sad at CB. Can Tonken any transfer to another account.

I look for a friend, transfer him 500 tokens and run a show. The first tips come from a friend, so that it looks like, oh this Camgirl popular and thus get more tips. Even with Cam4 normal business.

Of such things, and I do not believe these sites are for me no reliable pages.

As with SM, since latest'm much Cam Girls from Spain. I live in Spain and at 23.00 hours it is dark with me, among them the clearest sunshine. Since the questions are very many members if I really am from Spain.

Natalie  it is true, what use to me a high Trafic if no paying customers are. We are all making money there and not drive for a long while. We accept Cam4 trafic in the area up to 200-1500 people, revenue 50 tokens in 3 hours. The site has since 2 years taken as to paying members. The Trafic has remained the same. But from Trafic I can not live.

stormy  I have so deserved at AC in 2010/2011 to 800 €. Today, only video, no Cam 2-10 € / month. I put there, nothing more a. I let it just run. What's coming.

Among the top 3 earners with 300-400 € / month, that's no winning. What deserve ranked 20-30?

I think you run 3-4 portals like AC simultaneously. What I do not. I see only a portal to provide a high standard of quality. How do you respond to two Members at 2-3 portals? One member comes from AC and the other of MDH. Just look at SM, the Madel who "speak German" and to see the same at 10 portals. They have 1.5 to 3 star. Understandable.

  • @Spaingirl how many videos you got just sitting there on AC?

Curious to know. Might reach out to the main affiliate dude and see if I can't get the profile links for more top earning referrals to get some idea of the demographics and what they're doing to earn so big.

If AC referral earnings keep trending the way they are, next month the site should surpass Chaturbate and ManyVids as my top earning site. There's only two models that are pulling in all the money though, with another 5 that are doing good and then a long list of models that get a couple of sales periodically.

From the other programs I've promoted, I've noticed that a lot of times it takes a model a month or two to finally start uploading content and generating sales. ModelCentro is especially guilty of this lag between registrations and conversions ;) So I'm having a feeling I'll be seeing a lot more active earners in a couple months.

  • @WebcamStartup Can't think of any of the sites offhand... this was years ago when I was first getting started. A few more recent ones that I tried using without much success have been Mypornprofile and AmateurPorn. I didn't spend a lot of time with either site, so that could be why too. But usually I get some sales even with just a few clips uploaded.

I love Extralunchmoney. I don't sell a lot of premade content on there, but I make a decent amount from customs. 95% of my custom requests come from that site.

  • I'm assuming that's amateurporn.com? Site looks shady just from how there's no kind of model FAQ found anywhere.....

  • Site traffic does not always equal revenue generation, especially in camming. I've found that higher viewership most times equals more freeloaders and those unwilling to pay for their services, especially on token based sites. Clips4Sale is a diverse enough market for both pro-am producers and camgirls, while ManyVids seems to be based on cam girl popularity with fans and not really on content quality/quantity. Just my perspective and experience for myself and speaking with other performers & content producers.

  • I'll add that a pro-am producer convinced me to try out Chaturbate based off of showing me Alexa rankings. I've done good on there, but the amount of freeloader viewership is overwhelming. Financially, I've always done much better on Streamate with half the hassle. I think it's all based on the performer and not really the global ranking.

  • WebcamStartup  amateurporn.com is shady as fu*k. My friend John spend over 100 bucks on me  they tried not to credit me for . ( until I had a total sh*t fit about it publicly after he let me log into his account where I could see he had bought the every video) The site is own by the same owners of Gods girls.

(I just got your email btw way having coffee and writing back)

  • Yea now that I think of it, your report is also missing Cam4, which is at global rank 841 as of right now

  • @Natalie need to get Cam4 added. Took a look at FreeWebcams.com and their model recruiting portal looks insanely shady. Broken images, repeating text under each column, nothing comprehensive at all. Know anyone performing on that site? Would be interested to know their toughts on it.

@Krystal You're very right on all those points. Looking at the countries referring traffic is always something of value though. I put more weight into that than the global traffic score.

  • @WebcamStartup, not sure who cams there, gotta ask around. I saw them at trade shows and thought I'd bring them up since we want to have a full list. It may be that they have a separte models area, like xcams and xmodels... not sure

  • Yeah, planning on reaching out to the email addresses posted and let them know. Looking tacky like that can't help with model conversions. I can't find the information I need for a detailed informational blogpost either...

  • What trade show was it? Exxxotica?

  • @WebcamStartup, that was CammingCon Miami I think. Same place I met peeps from CamSoda... another one I just thought of.

  • came across this t hread on WCG, the girl's made the most complete list I've seen in a while: http://www.wecamgirls.com/topic/6850-complete-list-of-all-cam-sites-existing/

  • Yep, I'm not a performer, so I'm not welcome there. Kind of a shame they don't recognize that the industry is a whole lot bigger than the performers (although they are the most important part) and do what Amber Cutie and Stripper Web do with an open forum and a private topic for performers only.

Kind of isolates themselves from webmasters, affiliates, solution-providers, studios and more.

  • I was able to sign up as "industry professional"... wondering what might be the problem...

  • I know right? They state they allow industry professionals, which is how/why I signed up.

Bullshit part was that I was just lurking and only made like 2 posts and those two posts were legit posts answering legit questions (pretty sure on SEO) that the rest of the community seemed clueless on.

The reason they indicated in the "You Are Banned!" email was that I wasn't a performer. I was debating trying to reach out the admins, asking why they claim they allow industry members but yet ban because those members aren't performers, but decided to take the path of least resentment and least anomosity.

Was about to remove them from my list of camming communities and forums for the insult, but didn't for the sake of being comprehensive and not being butthurt.

As to date the only people that have pissed me off enough to warrent that has been XTube, which has a very diseaving referral program. Very diseaving. They never even followed-up to my emails calling them out on the shady language they use for their referral program.
