Events
If you go to any events, may I sugest you get cheap business cards to hand out to your fans.
Also get t-shirts made up with your website, so if your fans take pics of you, your url will be on the pics.
Make use too of QR codes.
If people do take pics of you, and post to twitter, it may be worth you re-tweeting the pics and ask them to post using a hashtag.
And do not forget most social media does live streaming, so try to do a few live streams from the events to build up a fan base.
