NEW! SEO Section in Your ModelCentro Admin

Our ModelCentro team is always looking for ways to help our models stay on top, and we're thrilled to announce the launch of some awesome new tools to help you get more viewers!  cheeky

SEO, or search engine optimization, is the number one way to improve your visibility online, and we've created a new section designed to help you maximize your presence. This section will allow you to create custom tags using keywords and phrases specific to your site's content. We've also developed sitemaps, which will allow search engines to read and understand your site more effectively.

Here is a breakdown of the features we've designed to help you increase your business:

Metadata: Metadata consist of a title and description that provide a summary of your website. The more specific you are, the more traffic will flow to your site, so be creative! Editing your Metadata is simple and the results are well worth the time. Here is a link to get you started:  http://help.modelcentro.com/site-customization/how-do-i-edit-metadata-of-my-site

Sitemap: Think of a sitemap as a table of contents for Google and other search engines. A sitemap will allow you to list all of the pages on your site and provide search engines with more information about the way your site is organized. This makes your site easier for search engines to read, ultimately creating better search results.

We've made it easy to get a sitemap right from your admin panel. Click here to find out how: http://help.modelcentro.com/site-customization/how-can-i-get-a-sitemap-for-my-site

For more information on metadata and how they can help your visibility online, check out this article https://moz.com/learn/seo/meta-description . There you will find even more tips on how to create the perfect meta tag and description, and the best information to include.

We love getting feedback, and we are constantly striving to make your ModelCentro experience as simple and effective as possible. If you have any questions or require assistance, please let us know! We're here to help.

  • Note: for the love of God please do not copy-paste a single title/description to all of your pages. Spend 2 minutes and write some unique ones :)

Important thing: Description length should be around 300-320 (didn't fix numbers in interfaces yet)

Feel free to check this article https://www.eversparkinteractive.com/are-duplicate-meta-descriptions-bad/ but avoid leaving it blank as it says there, since a lot of content pages may not have enough text data for Google to automatically create description for you. So it's the best to spend few minutes and to create a proper unique ones.

Think about keywords you want to use in your titles and descriptions.

Imagine how users act and what they are searching for in google. Try to match their search queries.

Don't be afraid to use niches as well.

Example title:  Paul Mosk Official site of the sexy brunette pornstar

Now in that title I am not only covering the stage name, but also brunette, sexy, and pornstar keywords (I know those are super-heavy ones, but it's better than just going Paul Mosk - Official site)

  • Awesome!!!

So amazig and easy to do. took me 20min to get my meta info as i wanted.

Google loved the sitemap.xml instantly and my SEO score went up.

  • Great new feature!  Thank you!

Do we need to manually submit the .xml file or is there a "Robots.txt" file somewhere in the MC structure that does it automatically as described b Google here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/183668?hl=en&ref_topic=4581190

    Thank you again.

  • @FantasyOneTV thank you for that question. At the moment you will have to manually submit your sitemap, as we haven't updated global robots yet (since it's a new feature).

But later on we will update robots file, of course.

Worth mentioning that while sitemaps help with indexing (which, without indexing, content will NEVER appear in search, so very important), having a page in the sitemap won't actually increase the SEO value of that particular page. That being said; it's a great feature and one I've personally been asking about for years now.

Meta titles and descriptions is more optimization for click-through than anything else, although it is also a [small] ranking factor, and SERP click-through is also a ranking factor, meaning meta optimization can also increase page ranking in an indirect way. Also, if you're ranking a page, but people aren't clicking on the search result, those rankings are doing you nothing. Serious SEO agencies will actually split-test these things. So, be thinking about what text / wording will do best for click-through when doing meta optimization.

The meta title / description is what i used in search engine results, as well as the title/text that appears on social media sites when shared there as well.

It's not the shortest segment, but we covered SEO in-depth in one of our podcast episode. I highly recommend watching. We tried to keep it "layman's" enough, while being comprehensive and not making things overwhelming:

@Paul, curious to know your role on the Centro team. Don't think we've ever met before.

  • Uhh :)

My IT story started back in 2000 (oh dang I'm 18 years in IT now, just realised). I was mostly srtudying and working with adobe and macromedia products back then, being jack of all trades for some years. I've joined Centro Team back in 2010 and has been Head of the Customer Relations for all Centro products for the next 7 and a half years.

Last August I've been assigned to the ModelCentro Product Manager position, so responsible for all the development since.

For the SEO (since the topic is about it, hah) - I've been studying it for the past few years (mainly self-development reasons) by running some small projects purely dependant on organic traffic. No super results, but the best I've got before abandoned those due to the low amount of spare time is 1:160 purely organic conversion from what I recall.

A lot of the performers and partner companies have met me as I am usually representing our company on the following events: TES, AWS, AVN, XBIZ, VENUS, etc (although I mostly do EU ones and rarely US ones). My name may sound unfamiliar since I usually run under Mr.Sexy name (don't ask... made up name that I got as a bet during Vegas AVN initially. Chris from Paxum - I hate you).

So yeah @WebcamStartup we've talked before. I hope you did open your studio in time as planned ;)
