When did my Domain become $88??? Is this a wrong price, I never paid this much for a Domain!

is it a top level domain like .com or a special domain like .xxx. .club. or something. each domain host has to pay annual fee to ican so if they are not selling a lot of a certain domain or think that is a poplar one they will have prices way above that of a .com
most registors if its other then a .com will do a intro price when you first sign up and then a higher price when you go to renew it. i use google domainds since its a .com and the fee is always 12 for a year
.xxx is an expensive-ass TLD. Kind of cringed when ModelCentro suggested those and offered them free, as I figured this day would probably come. Bad thing is, you need to keep the TLD registered in order to even 301 to a .com and maintain traffic / search rankings.
I've never been a huge fan of TLDs outside of .com or .net if you can't find anything applicable. So I don't really shop around for the cheapest special TLDs. If you do some digging, might be able to find a registrar that doesn't decently priced .xxx. They'll probably help with the transfer and everything.
.coms you'll never really see more than $15ish. WHOIS protection is another $10ish. Gonna vary from registrar to registrar though.
At least WHOIS protection isn't any more expensive for .xxx domains.
Really, if the site earnings justify it (so obviously case-by-case) ModelCentro should grandfather-in the sites they offered free .xxx domains to, and discontinue it for the new sites being registered. My personal opinion. Although < $100 isn't that much money, it's definitely a rude awakening for models that never realized how expensive the TLD is.
.......Actually, on that note, I think I still advertise "Free .xxx TLDs" on a bunch of MC content. Should probably go revise it.
I use my .com more so choose to canceal the xxx domain. My .com gets better hits and even shows on search engines better
tbh, wishing I chose a .com, but my choice came because my name is NatalieK and so .xxx was my only possible idea, within the thought of adult and xxx videos...
the .com is a ring designer, this not bothering me so much, but is annoying when my google search and ranking shows a load of wedding rings first lol.
All in all, with my situation, the .xxx does work with benefits. If you want to find me, you´ve got to be looking for porn
