Live Show with external app
Hello!
I decided to give a go to my website live shows once more because a camgirl shall be on cam lol. And it didn't work when I really needed it... I hope we'll fix it asap, but I understand it's not priority (*cryalot*) and hard to get the problem without running live test. I'll try my best to explain the glitches I encountered tho.
First show, one of my member couldn't even enter the show, there was no live show menu on his side. He's clever so he typed directly in his bar adress "https://sharleenfleury.com/liveshow". In there he said it was just a black cam and stayed that way. On my side, I didn't see him in the room, but saw the "Website Activity" section saying that he joined the show.
So I decided to test it with Action-Dan . Everything seemed to work properly, I joined my own show as a fan clicking on the live show menu of my site and I saw "Sharleen" entering the room (as a fan) and even writting "test" in the chat. Good.
So I scheduled an official show. First problem I encountered : when I entered the loging IDs of the scheduled (calendar) live show in the encoder, it said that it was unable to connect that ID ( http://i.imgur.com/9LQPARi.jpg ). I tried multiple times to connect with this live show Id, never worked.
I had to start a fresh new show and deleted the scheduled one, bummer.
Fresh new live show IDs worked instant in the encoder. So I started my show and I waited for my first fan to join the chat. When he entered the room, it stopped the show automatically. The external app was still running but the count stopped on the site admin interface (1) : http://i.imgur.com/upjtxd3.jpg
So I started another show with new IDs etc. In my room "fan" showed 0 but Paul was still in there as he said in DM and there was the green message in chat "paul joined the room" (2). I thought I'd be ok from now.
It was extremely lagging to him (I had him in DM all the time). As I thought he left the room (3) the show ended again automatically (1).
I've tried starting a new show a few times and it was always the same thing : I enter a room with 0 fan but with the green message saying there is someone logged in the room (3) everytime Paul logged out (as seen on the red message), the show ended. The red message appeared after a various time, 5 sec the first try, 28 sec the second try, etc.
On its side, it was lagging and he said that he didn't leave the room but he saw the show ends and starts a few times.
In my live show pannel I had few recordings, for each try. I never clicked on the red "stop" button. It just stoped itself when the red message poped (3).
LiveShows and their recordings work properly only when no fan in the room. (btw the quality is amazing with the encoder!)
If you're willing to do more test with me I'm up!
Tho, I'd like to know if anyone successfully did live shows with a filled room because I feel like running a beta test when I need something to work lol.
Btw, I can't make the MC browser option work now, it always says my camera is busy and used on another program (it's not, encoder wasn't even installed, manycam shut down, etc).
Comments
I always use the external encoder. The quality is significantly better. About the browser jerks the stream. I am sending in HD720 and I have no problems.
Except when I use the App from Streamate. So, when I switch to Streamate on external show. The image is cut, it is not sycronized to Streamate. There are areas as described below. It is stupid if a certain area is missing. This problem already exists from the beginning, but I do not use this anymore. About the External Encoder I program 2 streams.
It's normal with a scheduled live show. This problem exists from the beginning. The system always says: this server has already been assigned.
I proceed as follows. 5min before the start of the show, I delete the scheduled show and then start a new Liveshow.
With Chrome (MC-Browser option) there is partly a problem that you can not select a cam. This is not a Modelcentproblem. I have this partly synonymous with other Cam sides. One day it goes, the other day does not.
Try to change the Bowser times. If I have the cam side over browser, I use FF. Works well with Modelcentro. (Browser option)
My experiences.
Have a lot of luck
I've done a few shows on there now using the external encoder....the browser option is unworkable due to the huge lagging issue, it doesn't matter what quality video I set it to either....but yeah back to the encoder....
I always have to restart before I do a show as I get the same 'Camera Busy' error that Sharleen experienced. But even with the restart I still have connection issues sometimes. Again, I have the same 'cannot connect to that ID' error on occasions.
When I finally get connected the stream is good quality but usally there are a few hiccups that cause the stream to lag and then suddenly catch up....like I'm in fast forward lol. I have run shows with over 15 users in them so I know it is possible to run shows with users in.
I'll be honest, if what Sharleen is saying is true about Modelcentro finding this issue to be low priority then I'm pretty shocked....the main feature of most solo sites is the live interaction users get to have with the models, well it always has been on my sites and it is this interaction that sets our sites apart from other 'porn' sites. If we are losing this feature using Modelcentro then what is going to make people want to spend their hard earned money buying a membership??
The issue ive had is the model centro app will work fine, record fine, even had my husband as a test dude.i want to save the show on site theres no sound! WTH? I havent even done a live show on my site in months because if i use an external app the quality goes down and gets laggy but there is sound. Model centro app beautiful clarity but no sound. Frustrating.
I had same problem before, not only with MC but with other sites/app. I updated the drivers of my webcam (Logitech C920) and it fixed the mic problem. Some softwares doesn't work at all with C920 mic tho, like manycams.
@Sharleen, Dan will contact you shortly to investigate and fix all these issues
@CoCaBBW, please send a report to support at modelcentro.com, our guys can setup a TeamViewer session with you and check the sound settings
It isn't true that the live show app bugs are a low priority. I suppose what was meant when that was voiced was that we're working on updating the entire live show feature, which means that fixing the old one isn't always a top priority since the updated version should iron out most of the old glitches. That doesn't mean we don't address direct requests - we do and try to work as quickly as possible to sort any trouble out. It is essential to be able to test the app though - if we can't find and reproduce the same problem you're having, we can't fix it either, which is the tough part with live shows.
I have high hopes for the updates that are coming to the live show app. This doesn't mean the app should not be fixed when bugs are found, but there are lots of improvements planned and so I'm excited about it.
