Free Members Option FEEDBACK

Hello!

Just some feedback/suggestions after a couple of days with the Free Members new option.

1-

This is the message we have when a video preview ends/pause if we see it as a guest : http://i.imgur.com/8tF1u4g.jpg

The message is wrong. Better tell that they need a Premium Account, to upgrade their free account to access all content. I've got free users complaining that they can't watch videos after registering...(btw a customized message with our own logo would be great, the MC logo doesn't fit a personal website).

2-

Free Members can't send nor read messages but they can send a tip note. That would be great if they could at least read an answer to that tip note from the model so we don't have to write them an email. I don't want to use my email for that kind of correspondance anymore.

Also, when we send a message to all, it includes also free members. They can't read it, it spams the mailbox so there is no point to send the message to them when we use "message to all" (unless you make them able to read). And it also send to ourselves, if we could exclude our own account so we don't receive messages from ourselves lol.

3-

I don't remember but I welcome anyone else with suggestions about this feature to comment this post :)

  • I would love to see a Pay per message option. They send us a message and pay the amount we set with a message back from us. This way they can communicate with us. Id love if we could also hit if that message from us is free or not when replying.

I would like to see when Email Notifications for Tips includes the Text we set when we set up Pre Amounts on that page. Itd be amazing

  • Thank you so much for the feedback and catching these. I'm reporting them right now. Store issues are fist priority as it's a new feature so ironing it out is super important. We really appreciate the feedback!!!

  • Cher, they'd have to pay to send the message, not to recieve it. They need to "ok" it if it comes with a payment. But I agree that we really need this feature!

  • 3- I remember now lol

When guests click on "join me" they only see the interface for a free registration (no prices), and then later they'll have a tiny little pop-up telling them they can upgrade.

Priority is to have paid members. So better have the paid option ultra visible asap in the process of registration. Like, right after clicking "join me" if possible -> Having 2 visible and clear options : the free registration (and what they get for that) and the Premium Access (and what they get).

If they still decide to register as free members, the little upgrade pop-up is fine ofc. But they need the premium option available at the very begining of the process.

The majority of camsite members I redirect to my site were looking for a premium access, clearly. But I don't see them upgrading. Before the Free option, I just had paid members from this kind of advertising. Now I only have freemiums so I guess something isn't clear enough for them.

They're far from being stupid but I've noticed camsite members need a very detailed and long explanation to get the things sometimes. The Premium Area button needs to be something as pushy and straight as the over-spammed "Tip = Show" in camrooms, because they can't figure it out themselves.

For now I just put a big graph blog to advertise the premium area.

  • Let me add this as well, good point and thank you @Sharleen!

  • HI there .

I deff agree with Sharleen, I've had loads of free sign up ( Registering ) but less actually signing up , I just tried it out myself & it's slighlty confusing.

(Here's what I was thinking if I was a man when i signed up )

When i hit the join now button, I was expecting to still see the payment etc & a way of paying straight away to get on the site because i'm turned on & I wanted to get straight thru to the content . Instead I waited for my password to be emailed to me then i signed in & I was just back to the original free view home page . Which confused me as i actually thought i had become a member ..... not sure what to do now , ow guess i'll click the join up again button .... ummm .... ok what do i hit , maybe the upgrade .... ah theres all the prices & now I have to put my card details in .

By this point my horniness has gone or i just think fuck it I need to come faster so go to a tube site .

Now back to Angel Talking Ha ha not a horny guy .

I just think it's to long winded & deff not quick & simple . I under stand about the free memebrs bit for me , I deff don't think it's being cost effective as I am still working thru my store & adding things to it, which means I'm actually losing people signing up to the full members section .

Just my thoughts & aplogises if i've repeated myself or any one elses queiry's

    Thanks

Thank you Angel, the feedback is great, please keep it coming everyone! I'm adding it all for our team to iron this out.

  • I didn't know None premium members couldnt see messages, I sent a 'August 1st update' Message to everyone, which included Images, to see if I could get more people to upgrade, waste of time that was if they can't see them :/ Perhaps Make it so they can see messages from models, and not send them back unless they upgrade (although I dont mind getting free messages)

Ive had a few people upgrade from free to premium so I think the free members option has worked, but Ive had a fair few people make more than one free account, using very similar emails and/or usernames i.e billy123, billy1234 etc so I think people are confused with how it works; as angel said above, Ive also had guys who have said its too much hassel signing up, I'm not sure what can be done about this but a quicker sign up process would be loads better.. A lad can only concentrate on one thing at a time :P

Just wanted to echo what @Sharleen suggested about having 2 distinct options - Free and Premium. Definitely needed.

  • I just thinking making it similar to get them where they want. Also Id love to make a Couple Videos that FREE members can Watch, have the request Cam Shows (yes pay per min), also wondering when i can sell Physical/Digital Items (not just media Downloads) in my store

  • Thank you Cher! Adding to feature requests although I think both of those are already planned.

"A" is my actual top tipper on a camsite, he tips me thousands of tokens in a single tip. One would think he would register as a premium member without hesitation. He's still a free member tho, and signed in and out 4 times in a row. I think he might be confuse.

I didn't get any new paid member since this new option btw and I'm starting to worry...

I would like to send him a message to welcome him and explain him how to upgrade, but I don't want to send him a mail as it seems to be a private mail and sometimes they don't like being contacted on their private box

  • 4- When we deactivate the free member option, the store is no longer visible for guests. Guests don't know there is a store, wich is a big argument for joining the site! It should be visible in the menu, and the previews, just like all content is visible in the latest updates and videos/photos menus.

  • I have been up and running for 2 1/2 months. I have 291 free members, and 41 subscribers. lol I didn't realize the freemium feature was new (cuz so am I :P) so I didn't really realize how to position it in my pre-launch promotion. So I have a LOT of untapped potential there, and might have had a LOT more sales lately if things were more clear to the customer..

I definitely think people are confused and must think that signing up for a free account gets them the whole package, then abandon and might not come back when they don't get what they expected.

I think it was mentioned but I'll push it cuz it's so so important: when the option to sign up comes up, they should have a pop up with both options and a list of things they get with each. Sign up for free and get access to purchase from the store (which should be visible to EVERYONE regardless of guest/account status), sign up on a monthly basis and get all the goods.

It would be cool if we could customize that pop up message too, for example: Sign up monthly for X$ and get 120 videos and daily blogs!

  • I just want to speak up for free memberships I believe people are over looking the value of a verified email. Yes the messaging and email interface has to be fixed so they can recieve updates and be reminded of what they are missing. But once thats sorted having that free member list will be invaluable.

But I believe it works well as is. If you give the guest an option between paid and free they'll just instanly leave site. When something is clearly marked as free its instantly labeled subconciously as worthless and not worth the trouble. But the way it appears now which is why everyone is seeing so many free member sign ups is that they are actually getting something. When in reality all they are getting is permission to buy from the store.

If you look at every major site whether mainstream or adult they all have some way to farm emails. Because they are that valuable. And adult sites have to be a little misleading in a way cause theres just so many options out there.

It might be frustrating seeing all the free sign ups and no upgrades to premiums. But these are people who are most likely just looking for free stuff and never had the intention to sign up any way. But at least you got an email which can be used to upsell them one day.

And as far as any guest claiming it is to confusing to sign up its a pretty false statement. When you sign up for a free account you are given a login. Once you login you will find along the bottom a popup explaining upgrade. And where you login and out from it explains upgrade as well. And further more any link you click on photoset/video will lead to another upgrade.

    This Tho:

It would be cool if we could customize that pop up message too, for example: Sign up monthly for X$ and get 120 videos and daily blogs!

I just dont think people should let the ratio between free sign ups and premiums discourage them. This is just a new stat you are not use to seeing. Think of all the people that don't even sign up for free. So at least with an email you have a second chance to sell them. And hopefully soon a free member messaging system is implemented so you can easily notify them of new store items and site updates.

The way it is right now, I just want to turn it off. Though I'd need my store menu to appear for guests even when the free member option is off because I advertise it on cam and I don't want to be called a liar. "Yes I have a store, you just need to pay $34.95/mo to see it!" "yes sure Sharleen, suuuuure..."
  • Hi again :P So I understand the value of having the emails of the people who have subscribed as free... but I see there is no easy way to collect all those emails (as in export them all to a spreadsheet like I can do with my newsletter...)... I have over 300 free members. I am not crazy about the idea of copy pasting one by one, especially as this feature moves forward and more free members sign up. Can we please add this to the suggestion box? :)

  • @Sharleen you don´t need to pay to see the store items, you need to sign up for free to take out a clip, the store option is available to see for free, to anyone, anyone can see your store.

I do not see any reason not to have a free members option, I´ve had members join because they signed up for free, checked out some clips and sign up :) x

  • angel_Long  I don´t believe this is true. Most men appreciate signing up for free, checking out the store & most would and do follow through, these are the guys that will stay with you & enjoy first chatting & second wanking over your vids.

I´m here for the long run as most of us are, so i´m looking to see full time sign ups and not just people who come and go, although, the guys that sign up for free also come and go month to month, which again is a great thing! xx

  • @Sharleen you don´t need to pay to see the store items, you need to sign up for free to take out a clip, the store option is available to see for free, to anyone, anyone can see your store.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough I don't know so i'm gonna repeat : WHEN you TURN OFF the Free Member option, the Store become INIVISIBLE TO GUESTS. That means only Premiums can see the store IF the Free member option is turned off. If there is the possibility to turn it off, that means anyone can have a reason to do so Natalie, even if your brain can't see it.

SO, IF I turn off the free member option (because I need to, not you, not everyone) I WOULD need the store to be visible for GUESTS (non registered members).

There is no reason the store would be totally invisible to guests in any way since that's something you promote like a showcase. MC can absolutely restrain access to purchases without having to hide the whole store, come on devs. I live with a senior developer and I'm surrounded with webmasters to whom this is absolute non sense.

I do not see any reason not to have a free members option, I´ve had members join because they signed up for free, checked out some clips and sign up😃 x

You don't because you can't seem to acknowledge any experience that isn't yours. Yes I do see a problem, I didn't invent anything. And I explained it already as well as angel_Long  did and what she said was clever AND TRUE. Our audience isn't the same obviously. Men on camsites don't always have the fresh mind of someone browsing the web casually looking for a pornsite to join. My members are mostly camsites people, they're "special"...When I meet them they're vision tunneling and have the urge to "cum right now for you bb". They might try once to get to me via my site, they get confuse after 5 log in/out tries, get back to my webcam and try the day after in the same state and urge, still confused. After days of unsuccessful attempts to reach me, they ask me on cam why they can't DM me/see my vids and that's when I explain them "you have to hit the upgrade button bb", and boom I finally have it go premium. The problem is that not all of them ask, and I don't have time to answer all of them in the middle of a public show.

I don't ask anyone to turn the free members option off nor to delete this feature. I'm asking for an improvement since they're still working on it and looking to improve it, and as far as I know, I've been a Modelcentro user for nearly 2 years so technically at a decent place to give feedbacks.

I said IN MY CASE, I started loosing sales with this feature and I have loyal tippers from camsites (premium material) giving me feedbacks about it. I explained why this option is confusing to SOME and suggested to implement something ALL other websites already do to avoid this kind of problem. Why is that too hard to take it in account Miss Natalie? Because you're doing great even with this new feature? Well, big news : it's not about you doing great here, it's about improving a fresh new feature. And you can't help improve it unless you had a bad experience. So why are you on here telling me to shut up?

Why is the new join of free members on the Dashboard under Website activity not listed anymore?

Has Modelcentro changed what is and since today only premium member listed, on the main page of the Dashbord?

The last free member is listed 4 days ago. Today, a free member of my site has joined and is not listed in the website activity. Under the fan list folder yes.
  • Spaingirl / Nati! We have removed free member activity from the dashboard due to numerous complaints. These spammed the feeds and it made it super difficult to find out what the paying members are doing.

Let me elaborate a bit more on why the features went hand in hand - the store and the freemium.

The thinking was this - if a member buys access to the video, they should be able to access it on the website, otherwise they'd have the right to claim a refund. Here is where the free account is necessary. If they don't have an option to sign up for free, it is only possible for them to access their purchases after logging in as a paid member, which is why the freemium was necessary. Not everyone allows downloads even on purchased content and it was not possible to make the store work with some downloads allowed and some not without the free access. Showcasing the store to non-members, therefore, makes no sense as far as the thinking went if they can't access it without the monthly paid membership. The good news on this is that there's an extensive plan on giving you more control over member statuses and groups, which should let you tailor your sales process better.

I've put up all of your feedback in the discussion plan and will make sure it's been heard and added into dev plans. I agree that it should be made more simple if possible, although the upgrade really is compulsory upon logging in for free and the conversion rates as a whole, from what I'm seeing, have improved for those who switched to freemium.

I'm sorry to hear the feature isn't working out for you as well as you'd hoped @Sharleen. I'll be able to come back with more info on it after there's a backlog meeting and a discussion of all the feedback.

Lastly, @MelodyKush, I'll make a separate request for simple export of free member data and in the meantime you could always contact support and they'll give you a csv. The complex issue here though is that while those who sign up to your newsletter are clear for mailing and opt-in by rules of CAN-SPAM (https://www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/can-spam-act-compliance-guide-business), free members do not. You'd have to treat the emails you send to them differently from those that you send to your newsletter subscribers. That is why there's an easy export for newsletter users and not one for free/paid members, although you have access to either as a list.

  • @Natalie

Would it be possible to have the wording for the newsletter added to when they create a free account so that we can market to them with an email list and/or newletter? Or, combine the lists so that a free membership sign-up is on the front page like the newsletter sign-up?

  • Hi Sarah, At this time you can get a list of the free members' emails in csv from the support team, but we do plan to make it easier to export. I think putting a checkbox of "Subscribe to newsletter" during registration is a good idea, I'll add it to the inbox.
