redirecting affiliates

Hi!
i just got a guy joined my affiliate program and when i had asked him what site he was running he said he just got jenysmithxxx.com (my domain is jenysmith.net) and would be redirecting search results for jeny smith xxx.  I seems not fair since he is not going to promote me in any ways. (im not sure if he is, he didn't tell me about it)   What should i do? i think i will face other facts like this in future

    Hey Jeny,

    The situation as not as bad as it seems, however it got some underwater rocks. Let me explain:

    Generally the whole point of promotion is to direct traffic to your site, which eventually results in members conversion. So if for example he will be sending traffic to his jenysmithxxx.com domain and it will end up on your site - that covers the goal of affiliate, as the main thing you want from them is to bring you paying members.

    Now about underwater rocks: Most likely he will be sending traffic directly to the domain by purchasing high volumes as a pop-up, pop-under or other types of traffic sources. That traffic converts as well so on that side it's not a problem BUT(!) for users it most often looks like an additional pop-up/pop-under (it's like when you about to watch some video on the site, you clicking it and another tab open with the different site). Now, most often you would naturally instantly click close the second annoyingly popping site, wouldn't you? That's right. And this will result in a 100% bounce rate for you (bounce rate is the percentage of users closing your site instantly without interaction). Trouble is - Google are adjusting ranking based on a bounce rate in addition to all other factors, so high percentage of bounce will result in Google lowering your site's ranking. 

    And if we will check your Analytics for traffic that Moose from sexyandfunny have sent to you - it is all quality users that have got to your site from your profile on sexyandfunny and bounce rate there is very good. 

    So generally it's a question of preference - you could go the way of many affiliates sending plenty of traffic to your site and it would work, and you wouldn't need google. Or you could be focusing on google as well, trying to get quality guests only.

    wow. pretty hard to choose. i think i will ask him to do not buy any pop up useless traffic to my page.
     today he sent me e mail asking if he could use my promo video at tube sites with jenysmithxxx.com link. i answered yes but not at major ones like redtube and xvideos because im going to start my own accounts there.  
    was it a good answer? i think me and my husband anyway couldnt cover all the tube sites...

    I'd do it on my own if I was you - no reason to give him an affiliate cut unless he finds some tube that you'd never find yourself. I'll send down some info on tubes over to you early next week - I have some direct contacts so you don't have to jump through as many hoops.

    i got it! Thank you Natalie! 
     Even my husband is a little bit puzzled with the banners and other pictures they ask. 
    profile photo, channel logo, header image , channel footer, video footer. Does anybody has a description where each banner is placed on screen? it would be easy to do them when you know where they will be placed.

    Jeny, just go to a tube's "channels" page and take a look - i.e. http://www.redtube.com/channel Each channel has banners, logos, header and footer etc. It's all there to check out. Do you need a set of required sizes? Those are usually individual per site but that should generally be provided. Did I send you the porndoe link example yet?
