Periscope!
You may have heard some of the new buzz about Periscope. In case you haven't, let me give you a brief introduction to what Periscope is. It is an app (https://itunes.apple.com/app/id972909677) that you can install on your phone that lets you live broadcast to your Twitter feed. To be clear, what happens is you 1. Install the periscope app. 2. Start filming, when you do you can push an alert to Twitter. 3. People on twitter see your tweet about your live broadcast, they click the link to view it on a web browser or on the Periscope app.
So it is a live broadcasting tool that is connected to Twitter but it does not actually live broadcast IN your twitter feed. So it is not like the embedded video option that Twitter has.
However, it is still very cool. It also allows you to save your video for 24 hours for people to watch, but no longer than 24 hours.
If you use #periscope you can likely get an audience that has never been introduced to you and one that is primarily mainstream. This could be a good way to get out in front of people.
Just like many tools in social media, they have a NO PORN policy. So you cannot go out and broadcast a hardcore scene. However, you can broadcast yourself getting ready for a photo shoot, or the beginning of a photo shoot and cut the feed right before things start getting hot and heavy. You could use Periscope as a great tool to tease into your newest scene.
Periscope is just another great tool that will allow you to diversify your content on Twitter.
