edited November 2015 in Updates and Features

Hey there ladies, t-ladies and gentlemen!

If you've done a live show these past few days, you could have noticed that there's a new internal live show app available as your streaming option. Tuning is still happening, but you can already start using the great new app.

Just click on the Public or Private buttons where it says "Try out our new Live Show!"

  • Chat window in full screen mode
  • See overall tips amount during live show
  • Mute your microphone during live show
  • Set live show goal/theme in banner & update it during live show
  • Mute users in chat
  • Mention user in chat
  • Change Live Show app colors to fit site's color scheme
  • Fixed buttons positioning on small monitors
  • Fixed the necessity to reload page to access show if re-entering for users

  • Ability to broadcast through desktop app (will allow for full HD!)
  • Ability to broadcast through mobile phone

As always, we look forward to your feedback and questions. As I mentioned, the new app is still being tuned, so all testing is much appreciated.

Comments

  • Im Loving the features thus far and my clients are also excited for whats to come MC Team! Excellent job on the new improved New Live show option. Atfirst I thought Guest users were able to see also being a PUBLIC show but @Henry clairified that up for me. Would that ever be an option @Natalie? Maybe we can give them a Trial viewing or something, It might give them an incentive to sign up.

  • Thanks @Desirablebottom.

You mean like a 30-second free access till it sends to pay page? Or a totally free show?

  • No free shows, some sort of free access @Natalie

  • Ah got it @Desirablebottom, in that case it's already in the works :) I don't think it allows free access to live shows though... I think what's currently in the works is few free comments/messages and previews of content, if they want more they will be sent to pay. I'll check out what the status and details is on that endeavor.

  • love it..what about cam to cam feature..do you think that will happen anytime soon.

  • Yes @kelley I 2nd that idea also

  • Cam2Cam, as well as pay-per-minute, are also features that are in the plan and the new app will make them possible. Trouble with cam2cam is - it eats up your bandwidth when working both ways, so before we can successfully start on implementing it we must achieve maximum stability, speed and quality of 1-way shows. We're not forgetting about your request @kelley, just moving towards it with baby steps ;)

  • I used this new feature on Wednesday for a Members Live Show and it was great, the quality of the stream was perfect. I look forward to using this more for private shows :)

  • Thanks @ashleymason973! Glad to hear you had a good experience with the new app!

  • Tested this feature out today . The stream seems really good until you move ....it seems really pixualated then . will this be improved on? I left my test webcam in my archived shows so you can take a look if you need to

Also I noticed you mentioned some thing about HD , is this coming late on as mine goes up to 540p at the min

    Thanks guys

  • Hey there @angel_long! Thanks so much for the feedback.

Yes the HD will be possible very soon through a desktop app, not via browser. Broadcasting via browsers is what deminishes a lot of the quality.

Devs say the pixelization issue might be due to internet speed, especially if you had your website open and the stream running there to check (doubling the load). They have now made it so you see what your  users see - i.e. if it pixelates for them, you see it, so you don't have to open the site to see the end result.

  • Thanks for getting back to me @natalie , I only had it open thru the stream that i upload thru. I could see the pixalation on that stream . I onlywatched it back once it had processed .

Roll om the desk to app that sounds pretty good

    ;-)

  • I have the same problem. Please do not say it is because of my Internet speed that I can rule. I have 5 Mb Uploade. In SM I send 720HD and the video runs smoothly, perfectly. Because SM 720HD I bought a new laptop with very high performance. I must say that the problem only occurs when rapid movements and when the new app. The old app had no such problem.

My Encoder at SM is stable, at set 2500kbit.

The old problem with the camera selection with Chrome still persists. I can not select Cam even with your new app about Chrome. With FF and Explorer no problems.

Nevertheless, I must say, the new app was well received by my boys on. Full Groess came to the full screen function and can still write. Clear through the 540p the picture is worse.

But on the whole a good job.

The increase in HD720 would be great but everything after his time, I think.

You write that C2C function requires a lot of bandwidth. My suggestion would be an option function (for us). We can able to switch on and off the funtion. As with SM.

  • Ah and hope it doesn't sound like I'm accusing anyone of low Internet speed, not at all, just trying to troubleshoot while turning some dials on our end as well to make things better.

We're now working the chat integration into the desktop app, which will allow for HD. You could technically use it already, except there won't be a chat window and I'm not sure it'd be convenient. I'll make sure to make a loud and clear announcement when the chat is integrated into the desktop application so that you can start streaming HD for your fans.

Your speeds changes all the time, and there is many factors you need to take into play before you start up your cam. You can have the best cam out there with the fastest speed and still have issues.

unless you check right before you turn on your cam you can not know for sure what speed you are really running at. (doing an online check is so so, but going right into whoever you use is the best way to check)

I have Fios and I run into issues on all sorts of sites for many differant reasons.

one big one is programs running in the background that will slow down your feed

I always do this before I start my cam

    control alt delete

    that pulls up task manger

then I close all the progams I don"t need

add ons for whatever brower you are using and games can slow you down.

skype really can eat away at the speed( even if you are not using it can still run in the background and you may not even know it on)

If anyone has updated to windows 8, and have cortana turning if off really helps.

When I do this my cam feed is great .

I would say trying that and see if it helps.
  • That's a great checklist, @stormy, thank you!

  • :) thanks Natalie  Looking forward to the new HD!

Just made 1min Demo show. From login to live show. in less than a min! 0 work on my part! Amazing!  (didnt consider quality since im sure it will soon come.) Exited once the Android app is out.

I already have the new title for my site: "Guerrilla Stile Life Shows" Live from the bathrooms of your favorite restaurants!"  cool

since im here and like doing this kind of things.

Made a second show using OBS as external app. 720p Stream. 3 diferent overlays. (ie. A Video Game, My Cam and the URL to my dancing video on PornHub.) All while encoding the Stream at 1080p in FLV format.

The issues i had disapeared once i took my time and cleaned my computer. Open background apps drain the bandwith and give the stream a stutter. No way arround it.

    Really happy BTW!
